Then use a hole puncher to make a hole at the top left corner and put some ribbon through. You can find this label at the bottom of the page if you want to use it yourself. You just fold the label over horizontally and vertically and then you have a fun little label. It also contains the instruction on how to make the chocolate chip cookies with this recipe. This label says what’s in the jar and what needs to be added to the mixture. To really finish up this chocolate chip cookies jar, I decided to add on a ribbon with a custom-made label. All that is left is to finish it off with some decorations. So, now you are done with the chocolate chip mixture. I used Aldi M&M’s, which are a lot cheaper than the real deal. You don’t have to use real M&M’s though, I didn’t either. I used M&M’s because I just had them lying around and because they look so beautiful in a recipe jar mix like this. These are really easy to just pour into the chocolate chip cookies jar. The last ingredient to go into the mason jar is the M&M’s (or chocolate chips). Step 3: Pour in the M&M’s (or chocolate chips) These two sugars don’t have to be separated from each other, because they look exactly the same. Once you put the brown sugar in, you can go ahead and pour the white sugar and vanilla sugar in there as well. Don’t worry if you spill a bit of sugar, this recipe doesn’t require the most precise of measurements. Brown sugar is pretty dense and it creates an almost solid barrier between the flour and the rest of the ingredients. Another reason why putting brown sugar on top of the flower is useful, is because you can really press the brown sugar down. It just looks nicer that way.Īgain, use a spoon to flatten the surface of the brown sugar. This way you will have a lovely darker colored layer separating the white flour from the white sugar. The first layer of sugar that you want to put into the jar, is the brown sugar layer. Once you have poured the flour in, you might need to clean up the top of the jar, because flour tends to go everywhere. ![]() This is important because you want the jar to have lovely and clean layers, so that it looks appealing from the outside. The spoon was also really useful to flatten out the surface of the flour once all of it was in the jar. I also didn’t just pour it in there, because the opening of the jar was too small. I always try to put the flower at the bottom, because it makes the biggest mess. The first thing you need to do is to put the flour in the mason jar. Step 1: Fill the bottom of the mason jar with a layer of flour You can also write an accompanying card if you want to write something more personal, just take the instructions and necessary ingredients from the label at the bottom of this post. If you want to add a label to the jar with instructions on it and with some extra information on it, you can find the label I made for this recipe at the bottom of the page. So put all the right amounts of the ingredients in front of you and then you can start. This makes it easier to stay focused, which for me is always a struggle while baking. To prepare, I suggest that you measure out the quantities beforehand.
